พลาสติกคลุมเห็ด เป็นชื่อเรียกตามลักษณะการใช้งานคือนิยมนำพลาสติกตัวนี้ไปใช้ในการคลุมพืชเพื่อรักษาความชื้นและอุณหภูมิ โดยเฉพาะการนำไปคลุมเห็ดฟาง จึงเป็นที่มาของชื่อว่าพลาสติกคลุมเห็ด
